It's time to reimagine philanthropy.
The field of philanthropy is calling for its own (r)evolution. We see challenges to the status quo from Darren Walker of the Ford Foundation to Asha Curran of Giving Tuesday. 2020 has put human suffering and systemic racism in clear view, thereby adding to the urgency and openness around this call to action.
What should the future of philanthropy look like? Simply put, we believe philanthropy needs to be:
diverse/inclusive (for all to participate in).
effective and impact-driven.
dynamic and responsive (cutting through bureaucracy).
empathy and humility-based.
expanded to value contributions beyond money.
oriented around social justice.
